Matsuura Kengyō

松浦 検校

1724 ca. - 11/21/1822

作曲 & 三弦

He is a representative composer of Nagauta during the cultural and cultural era (1804-1830) and was active in Kyoto.

He composed the artistic shamisen songs, and at the same time, he began to compose Kyoto's original songs, which had a different tendency from the previous ones. "This new work activity of Matsuura Kengyō is linked to the composition activities of Koto such as Kawarasaki Kengyō and Urasaki Kengyō . All of the new works of the Koto will be performed, and here a new style called Kyo-ryu or Kyo-style koto will be completed.

It seems that he was very wealthy because he belonged to the landowner's family (also the Sumitomo family) called Mr. Ota. He had excellent hearing and was invited to play at a certain house, and although he was ready, he did not start playing, so when asked, "Because the shamisen box in the back has not been cleaned up, the sound is bad."
